We do not recommend spray foam insulation because once it expands and hardens, it’s extremely difficult to work with for homeowners. If repairs, maintenance, or wiring adjustments are ever needed in the future, the hardened foam can be nearly impossible to remove without damaging surrounding materials. This can make even small projects more time-consuming, messy, and costly than they need to be.
Spray foam can pose potential health concerns if it begins to degrade over time due to prolonged exposure to moisture, heat, or UV light. This would cause it to release irritating compounds into the air that may cause respiratory issues, skin or eye irritation, headaches, or nausea, especially in attics with poor ventilation.
